Statement of Faith

     We believe the Bible is the all sufficient rule of faith and practice and it is as much a rule of practice as it is of faith.  I believe that the Holy Bible was written by men who were divinely inspired {2 Tim. 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:21}, and is preserved by the will of God {Psalm 119:89,90}; God’s Word is also void of any error and is perfect{Prov. 30:5,6; Psalm 19:7}; God will judge us by His Word{John12:47,48; Rom.2:12}; and it is the only standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried{Isaiah 8:20}.  We use the King James Version in all our services and ministries.

     We believe that there is one, and only one living and true God, Who is the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of the universe, and Who is the only proper object of worship and adoration.  We also believe that there are three Persons of the Godhead – the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory{I John 5:7}, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption{Eph.2:18; II Cor. 13:14}.

     We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ both God and man are united, so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man.  {John 1:1, 2, 14}

     We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit.  That He baptizes the believer into the body of Christ {I Cor. 12:13}, indwells the believer {I Cor. 6:19}, and seals the believer unto the day of redemption {Eph. 4:30}.  He can be grieved {Eph. 4:30}, and quenched {I Thess. 5:19}, both by the individual believer and corporately by a congregation.

     We believe that man was created in holiness, under the law of his Maker {Gen.1:27, 31; Eccl. 7:29}, that by personal and willful disobedience to the revealed will of God man fell from that pure and happy state {Gen.3:6-24; Rom. 5:12}, and in consequence to that fall all men are born in sin {Rom.5:19; John 3:6; Psalm 51:5}, being void of holiness and inclined toward sin, and therefore under just condemnation to an eternal judgment {Eph. 2:13; Rom. 1:18,31: 2:1-16}, without defense or excuse {Rom. 1:20, 3:19}.

     We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has by His suffering and death made an atonement both once and for all for the whole world that whosoever will may be saved {Rom. 5:18,19; Heb.10:10-12; Rom. 10:13}.

     We believe that repentance toward God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and regeneration are all that is necessary to receive salvation {Rom. 10:9,10; Luke 13:3,5; Acts 17:30; Eph. 2:8,9; Titus 3:5}.  We believe that repentance, faith, and regeneration are the free gifts of God.

     We believe that we are justified by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ {Rom. 3:24}, that justification includes the full forgiveness of sin {Rom. 5:9}, and the promise of eternal life {Rom. 5:1}.

     We believe that it is the privilege of all believers to be positionally sanctified, and that their whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ {Eph. 2:6}.  We also believe that it is the duty of all believers to actively participate in progressive sanctification brought to pass by the working and leading of the Holy Spirit in their lives resulting in Godly and holy living {Eph. 2:10}.

     We believe the soul of man never dies; in the resurrection of the body; in the eternal happiness of the righteous; and in the endless punishment of the wicked {Rev. 20:5,11-15; Rev. 7:15-17; 22:1-7}.

     We believe in the priesthood of all believers; that as born again believers in Christ we have direct access to God and that with this access there are certain responsibilities {Rev. 1:6; I Pet. 2:5,9; Heb. 4:16}.

     We believe in the perseverance of the saints.  That all true believers will endure unto the end {John 8:31; I John 3:9}, and that they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation {Phil. 1:6; 2:12-13; Jude 24-25}.

     We believe that a true Biblical church will be a congregation of baptized believers {I Cor. 1:1-13; Matt. 18:17; Acts 5:11; 8:1}, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel {Acts 2:41-42; 27; II Cor. 8:5; I Cor. 5:12-13}, observing the ordinances of the Church {I Cor.  11:2, 23; II Thess. 3:6; Rom. 16:17-20}, led by the Bible {Matt. 28:29; John 14:15, 21; I John 4:21} and using the gifts, rights, and privileges given them by God’s Word {Eph. 4:7; I Cor. 15:12; Phil.1:27}.

     We believe that the two ordinances of the Church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  I believe that baptism is not necessary for salvation, but rather an outward showing of being buried in the likeness of Christ’s death, and raised in the likeness of His Glory {Rom. 6:4,5}.  The Lord’s Supper is a commemorating of Christ’s sacrificial death and should only be taken by those who are born again believers, have been baptized, are a member of a local church, and have examined themselves for worthiness {I Cor. 11:26; Matt. 26:26-29; I Cor. 11:28,29}.

     We believe that God has appointed government for the good of the governed, and to punish the evil doers.  Those who make up the government are to be prayed for, and obeyed so long as the law of man does not conflict the commands of God {Rom. 13:1-7; Deut. 16:18; II Sam.23:3; Matt. 22:21; Titus 3:1; I Peter 2:13; I Tim. 2:1-8;Acts 5:29}.

     We believe that the end of the world is coming {I Peter 4:7; Heb.1:10-12; Matt.24:35}, that in the last days Christ will return in the heavens, that at this coming the dead believers will be raised from their graves, and the living believers will be caught up with them to meet the Lord in the air {I Thess. 4:13-18; I Thess. 5:1-11; I Cor. 15:51-53}, the saints will be judged for rewards for their works{ II Cor. 5:10, I Cor. 3:11-15}, that Christ will return to earth with His saints {Jude 14,15}, that Christ will set up His kingdom on earth and rule and reign for a thousand years {Isaiah 2:1-4; 65:18-25; Rev. 20:1-4}, that at the end of the thousand years the unbelievers shall be raised, judged, and the lake of fire will forever be their doom{Rev. 20:5,11-15}, that the righteous will enter into eternal joy with the Lord{Rev. 7:15-17; 22:1-7}.

     We believe that marriage is limited between one man and one woman who have vowed themselves to one another before God and that common law or civil unions are not recognized or blessed by God.  {Matt.19:4-8; Gen. 2:21-24}.
